	To get a better idea what this whiskey is really like, the best thing to do is to sample it with water. This produces a smoother taste sensation that allows consumers a chance to sample the liquor and enjoy the unique tastes without most of the edge. The various taste characteristics are still present, but there is far less harshness and the whiskey is easier to drink and evaluate this way.The taste of Jim Beam could be described as charcoal- like, grainy, smoky, and a little fiery and harsh. The taste smooths out a little bit as you taste more, but there is a distinct alcohol bite and burn in the back of the throat. The taste is sweet overall, even though the burn will make you think otherwise.
